Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov
The opening of the multifunctional modern Sports Palace took place on July 6, 2019. By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (No 802 dated November 27, 2020), the sports complex was named after the Olympic champion, world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, the legendary athlete Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.
The Martial Arts Palace is located under the jurisdiction of the Republican State Enterprise «Olympic training center by types of wrestling».
The Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov is located on the left bank of the river. Ishim on Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, 43, it is a unique sports complex with the possibility of holding international sports competitions in martial arts (Greco-Roman, freestyle, women's wrestling, judo, karate, taekwondo, as well as mixed martial arts).
Also on September 8, 2021, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the country, a monument was erected on the territory of the facility named after the athlete of the Palace of Martial Arts, which was opened at the intersection of Kabanbay Batyr Avenue and the street of Khans Kerey and Zhanibek. The sculpture of the monument to Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov is made of bronze, the pedestal is made of granite. Height - 7.5 meters. Its author was Yerbol Ziyabekov, a sculptor from the capital. The palace building has a triangular shape, which symbolizes the soaring golden eagle, as a symbol of the power and freedom of Kazakhstan.
The sports complex is a 4-storey building with a total area of 32,146.1 m2 and a plot area of 5,1724 hectares.
