The world jiu-jitsu championship is held in the capital

The capital is hosting the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship among youths and cadets, Khabar 24 reports. More than 1,000 young athletes from 43 countries are participating.

Kazakhstan is represented by about 200 athletes. The final results are still unknown, but one of our fighters, Adebiet Nursultanov, has already won bronze.

Adebiet Nursultanov, bronze medalist of the World Championship:

- Reason is needed here. Strength doesn't play a big role. The head should work well. I like the direction of the fighting game. I grew up imitating Jackie Chan. Now I plan to become the winner of the next World Championship.

Kuat Sagiyev, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- Very strong athletes arrived. Our main rivals are fighters from the UAE and Russia. The guys are well prepared. These are children who started training at the age of 4-5.
