Today in Astana, at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, the republican freestyle wrestling tournament, dedicated to the memory of the glorious wrestler, the first Kazakh world and Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, ended.

In the three-day competition, children born in 2012-2014 and juniors born in 2009-2011 competed in 18 weight categories.

The award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of Bozkem masters was attended by the head of the department of physical culture and sports of the city of Astana Samat Zhylkybaev, the head of children's and youth sports school No. 7 of the city sports department Serik Khalelov and the acting director of the State Enterprise "Olympic Training Center for Wrestling" Zhandos Ushkempirov.

According to the organizers, the goal of the competition is to develop and popularize freestyle wrestling in the country, identify strong wrestlers in each weight category among young athletes, as well as improve sportsmanship.

Let us remind you that the republican freestyle wrestling tournament, dedicated to the memory of the glorious wrestler, was held in the main city of Kazakhstan for the fourth time this year. More than 600 young residents from all regions of the country took part in it.

Excellent students who participated in the prestigious competition were awarded special diplomas and medals.

Let us remind you that the Republican tournament was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Astana and with the support of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Astana, the Federation of Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
