Today is the birthday of the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Olympic champion, World Champion, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.

In 1975, Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov became the champion of the Summer Spartakiad of the USSR. He won the USSR Championship twice and took prizes six times.

He became the champion of Kazakhstan several times.

Today, the Martial Arts Palace named after Zh. Ushkempirov operates in the capital of Kazakhstan. This sports complex serves as one of the venues for holding the main and most exciting competitions in types of wrestling.
