The opening ceremony of the national judo championship was held

The second competition day of the next national judo championship is taking place in Astana. 463 athletes from 17 regions and 3 metropolitan areas will take part in this tournament.

The opening ceremony of the championship was attended by the President of the Judo Federation of Kazakhstan Kuanyshbek Yesekeev, the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of the city of Astana Samat Zhylkybayev, the Chairman of the Committee for Sport and Physical Education of the MKS RK Erbol Myrzabosynov.

“In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State” to establish the principle of fair competition in domestic sports, 3 independent referees from abroad have been invited to today’s championship.

Currently, about 133 thousand people regularly practice judo in the country. As a result, the country's athletes compete in international tournaments and bring honor to the nation. They will become an example for the younger generation and will lead young people to bright victories,” said Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Chairman of the Committee for Sport and Physical Education of the MKS RK.

Based on the results of today's competition, winners will be determined in 5 weight categories among men and women.

It should be noted that following the results of the championship, a national judo team will be formed in 2024.

The competition will continue at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov until November 15.
