Athletes with musculoskeletal disorders take part in the three-day competition. The President of the Federation, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev, Minister of Tourism and Sport Yermek Marzhikpayev attended the opening ceremony of the tournament and emphasized that special attention is paid to the development of this sport in our country.

Ashimbayev emphasized that this event is being organized for the first time in the history of the country.

64 athletes from ten regions of the country take part in the competition. Participants include experienced boccia players who compete on the national team, as well as athletes just starting their careers in this sport. More recently, boccia began to develop in our country. However, last year we achieved some success. And this year our federation became a member of the international federation. In addition, this year our athletes took part in international competitions for the first time. Among them, the Kazakhstan team competed at the Asian Paralympic Games and took 8th place in the team competition. I can say that this is a great success for our federation and athletes, the history of which goes back only a few years,” Ashimbayev said.

It should be noted that bocce is essentially a ball game. That is, this is one of the few Paralympic sports that allows children and adults with severe musculoskeletal disorders to improve. In our country, the Boccia Federation was created in 2021 on the initiative of parents raising children with disabilities and trainers of the World of Equal Opportunities public foundation.
