Today, the First Asian Championship among adults and the IV Children's and Youth World Championship in Kyokushinkai Karate began in Astana, in the Martial Arts Palace named after Zh. Ushkempirov. This is the largest event in this type of oriental martial art in the last few years. About 600 athletes from 22 countries are taking part in the competition.
