Today in the capital at the Martial Arts Palace. Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, the official opening of the VII World Championship in hand-to-hand combat among adults took place.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Oralov, the head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the President of the Kazakhstan Association of Hand-to-Hand Combat, Major General Saken Isabekov, the President of the International Federation of Hand-to-Hand Combat Sergei Astakhov and wished the athletes good luck.

"Currently, several international competitions are taking place in the capital. One of them is the world championship in hand-to-hand combat. Representatives of many countries, both from Asia and Europe, gathered here, and this year the scale of the competition has expanded. In this sport, which requires forearm strength and intelligence, I know that our athletes have been delighting the fans for 2 days already. I hope that today’s fierce battles will disappoint us all. I declare the VII World Championship open," the minister said.

It should be noted that this year more than 300 athletes from 32 countries are taking part in the competition. They compete in two programs. Already, the Kazakhstan national team ranks 1st in terms of the number of prizes in the overall standings.
