The President of the Wrestling Sports Committee of the International Council of Military Sports (CISM) visited Astana.
The President of the Wrestling Sports Committee of the Conseil International du Sport Militaire, Major Nasser Hassani, arrived in Kazakhstan to explore the possibilities of holding the first World Championship among military personnel under the auspices of CISM.
The official meeting was attended by the President of the Sports Committee for Wrestling CISM, Major Nasser Hasani, the Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the President of the Qazaq Kuresi Association Erbol Myrzabosynov, the Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Defense Colonel Arman Abeuov, the Director of the State Enterprise "Center" Olympic training in types of wrestling" Zhandos Ushkempirov.
During the meeting, Yerbol Myrzabosynov introduced the CISM representative to the history and specifics of the national sport.
– Kazakh kuresi is one of the oldest national sports. In past centuries, during breaks between wars, khans organized batyr competitions. These were a kind of exercises that supported the fighting spirit of the warriors. Today, Kazakh Kuresi has already reached the world level and is included in the list of cultural heritage of the world organization UNESCO. “I believe that holding such competitions among military personnel will serve to strengthen friendly ties between the armed forces of the countries participating in the organization,” he emphasized.
At the meeting of the 79th General Assembly and Congress of CISM, held in May of this year in the capital of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, the chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the head of the Central Sports Club, Colonel Arman Abeuov, made a presentation of the national wrestling "Kazak Kuresi", and also petitioned for the consideration of holding the first world championship among military personnel of CISM participating countries in “Kazakh Kuresi” in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2025.
As part of the visit, Nasser Hassani visited the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, where he got acquainted with the characteristics of the sports facility and its technological equipment.
The parties also discussed the organization and conduct of the first CISM challenge on Kazakh Kuresi, expressing a mutual intention to help strengthen the partnership and enhance the traditions of military sports.
