Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament, President of the Kazakhstan Bocce Federation Maulen Ashimbayev, Deputy Akim of Astana Esset Bayken took part in the closing ceremony of the National Bocce Cup, held for the first time in Astana, and awarded the performing bocce masters on the podium.

In his congratulatory speech, Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that the competition was held at a high level, and the skill and determination of the athletes were exceptional. He also summed up the activities of the Kazakhstan Bocce Federation and focused on the plan for further work.

-         «We face enormous challenges. Next year we plan to organize a number of events. For the first time, we will form a national youth boccia team. With the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and sponsors, the Federation intends to organize at least three major republican competitions next year, such as the National Championship, the Republic Cup and an open tournament dedicated to the memory of Sultanbek Orynbasarov. In addition, our team participates in a number of international competitions»,-said Maulen Ashimbayev, thanking the competition participants, coaches and parents who supported them and were active.

57 para-athletes competed in the Country Cup, held in four classes. With the best results of two days, 34 boccia masters reached the podium. Among them are boccia masters from Astana.

The best player of the cup among women was recognized as the capital Chingizkhankyzy Itiana, and the best player among men was Kurmantai Alexandr from Pavlodar.

According to the organizers, the winners of the stormy match were accepted into the national team and were given the opportunity to defend the country's honor at upcoming international competitions.

It should be noted that the competition, held for the first time in the history of the country, was held on December 8-9 in the capital’s Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.
