Chairman of the Committee on Sport and Physical Education, President of the Qazaq Kuresi Association Yerbol Myrzabosynov met with the President of the CISM Wrestling Sports Committee Nasser Hasani.

The meeting, held at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zh. Ushkempirov, was attended by the Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Arman Abeuov, and the Director of the RSE «Olympic Training Center by types of wrestling» Zhandos Ushkempirov.

During the event, the parties discussed the organization and holding of the first World Championship in Kazakh wrestling among military personnel in Astana in 2025, and also expressed a mutual desire to help strengthen cooperation and enhance military sports traditions.

In his speech, Chairman of the Sport Committee Yerbol Myrzabosynov emphasized the importance of holding the first World Championship among military personnel in Astana.

If we glorify Kazakh wrestling, the precious heritage inherited from our ancestors, as a means of nurturing Kazakh wrestling within the country, we must promote it as the brand of our nation in the international arena. Today we have a big goal - to systematically introduce one of our national games into the ranks of the world's complex games. “I believe that if Kazakh wrestling is included in the CISM program, whose members are military personnel from 140 countries, this will increase the popularity of our native wrestling among the military and will make a great contribution to its comprehensive development,” said Yerbol Kuantayuly.

The parties agreed to create a «Road Map», conduct qualifying rounds and organize referee seminars in preparation for the championship, which will take place in a year.

According to Mr. Nasser Hasani, the World Championships in freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling among military personnel will be held in Iran in 2027 under the leadership of CISM. The foreign guest emphasized that he intends to include Kazakh wrestling in the program of these competitions and work is underway in this direction.

Arman Abeuov, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reported on the progress of preparations for the upcoming championship and gave his recommendations.

It should be noted that the Conseil International du Sport Militaire, which is one of the largest sports organizations in the world, unites military personnel from 140 countries.
