Solemn Opening Ceremony of the VII Republican Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Athletes with Musculoskeletal, Visual, and Intellectual Disabilities

On June 4 at 12:00 PM, the opening ceremony of the VII Republican Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan will take place at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov in Astana. The event is dedicated to athletes with musculoskeletal, visual, and intellectual disabilities.

Around 2,000 para-athletes will compete in 17 sports disciplines. The large-scale event will be held across five regions of the country — Astana, Taraz, Kokshetau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Almaty Region.

The main goals of the Spartakiad are to promote both mass and professional sports among people with disabilities, encourage a healthy lifestyle, and identify talented athletes for the national teams.
