On May 6 of this year, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers was held at the monument to the great athlete and hero of Kazakhstan - Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Olympic champion, World champion and hero of labor Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.

It is important to note that today Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov would have turned 73 years old. On this day we will honor the memory and achievements of a great athlete who made a huge contribution to the development of sports in Kazakhstan and beyond.

The speech was attended by Chairman of the Committee for Sport and Physical Education Myrzabosynov Yerbol Kuantaevich, Deputy Akim of Astana city Bayken Yeset Berikuly, Director of the Sports Directorate of the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanagatov Yelsiyar Baimukhamedovich, Director of the Olympic Training Center by types of Wrestling Ushkempirov Zhandos Zhaksylykovich and Olympic medalist in judo Smetov Yeldos Bakhytbayevich.
