The world ranking judo tournament “Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam” will be held in Astana on May 10-12. The landmark bout will be the final Grand Slam for judokas, which will contribute points to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
This competition, which brings together the strongest from all over the world, will be held at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov. To date, athletes from more than 60 countries have registered in the competition, including world ranking leaders Japan, South Korea, and France.
We remind you that based on the results of this competition, according to the IJF rules, points in the World and Olympic rankings will be distributed among the winners and runners-up of the competition. 1st place will be awarded 1000 points, 2nd place – 700, 3rd place – 500 points.
According to a bilateral agreement between the Kazakhstan Judo Federation and the International Judo Federation (IJF), Kazakhstan will host the world Grand Slam competitions until 2026.
